Hi, my name is Mike Leavy, and I am the proprietor of SquidStore Consulting. I am a highly productive, results-oriented, customer-focused mobile software engineer and architect offering contract solutions to organizations and companies who are looking to create world-class mobile software products. I'm also a dog owner.
I specialize in native iOS apps, and have written or contributed to over a dozen apps in the App Store, including award-winning apps and apps that have been featured by Apple as Best New App, and Best in Category.

HaulHub
HaulHub develops digital ticketing products for various departments of transportation throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as software for heavy construction fleets and contractors. As one of the founding engineers at HaulHub, I helped grow the company from 5 to 50 employees, and I’ve worked on all of HaulHub’s mobile applications (6 in total) - mission critical applications used by governments and large contracting conglomerates throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Skitch
Skitch is a social networking product aimed at connecting friends with events and places of interest via the sharing of short video clips capturing what is going on at that moment. Written in Swift by a team of 3 software engineers.
Doorsteps Swipe
Swipe is an award-winning, App Store-featured product aimed at gamifying the task of reviewing homes and apartments for sale/rent. Written in Swift and Objective-C by myself.
Wowza GoCoder
GoCoder is an app and a library for doing real-time video broadcasting from an iOS device. Published by the leader in video transcoding and publishing, Wowza tools are used industry-wide for real-time video broadcasting. Written in Objective-C and Swift by a team of 2 software engineers.
Realtor.com Rentals
Rentals - though rather old now - is an App Store featured product that simplified the process of finding rental properties. Realtor.com products were the first to use map drawing to select areas of interest for property searches. Written by myself in Objective-C.

As the author and product visionary of these and other works, I have been invited to Apple on half-a-dozen occasions to demo these products to the App Store marketing managers and iOS Evangelists, as well as to discuss product roadmaps, new iOS technology adoption and mobile strategy.
Prior to my contracting work, I worked at Adobe Systems for over 13 years as a computer scientist and product architect within the Digital Imaging group. I have worked on products such as Photoshop, Photoshop Element, and Lightroom.
I am also the author of SquidKit, a small open-source “getting started” library for iOS (with documentation), and Tentacles, a full-featured yet simple to use networking library for iOS.
